In terms of customization, it means I can get it without a touch screen (saving costs) because I use a separate overlay. Using the correct adapter board to drive Raspberry Pi CM4 through MIPI is very simple. ST7701S is a common driver and therefore has community support. If you need a clear, small display for advanced projects that can handle MIPI integration, please don't wait and see.
