TFT display film technology
1, amorphous silicon film. Amorphous silicon thin film transistor technology was proposed in the 1970s. After nearly 30 years of unremitting efforts by scientists around the world, now more than the seventh generation of display display (LCD) production lines have all been automated, and industrial production technology is quite mature. It has developed into the mainstream products of today's world display displays, and the goal of future development is to have a larger screen size and lower production costs. Amorphous silicon TFT technology, its advantages are mature preparation process, relatively simple, high yield, suitable for large-scale production. The disadvantage is that the TFT has only N-type devices, and the mobility is only 0.5-1.0cm2/Vs.
2, polysilicon film. Polycrystalline silicon film processes are mainly divided into two categories:
(1) High temperature process refers to the temperature above 900℃ during the entire processing process. The high-temperature process can only be based on expensive quartz as the substrate, the TFT performance is good, and the high-temperature process is only suitable for small and medium-sized display or projection screen series.
(2) Low temperature process, the temperature during the entire processing is lower than 600℃. Large displays can be made on a cheap glass substrate using a low temperature process. Low temperature polysilicon (LTPS) TFTS are widely used in active (active) drive display TFT-LCD and AMOLED because of their low power consumption, lightweight, thin shape, high current supply and system integration. The key of polycrystalline silicon TFT process is how to prepare excellent polycrystalline silicon thin films in low cost and large area.
3, organic film TFT. It is self-evident that the emergence of organic TFT will form a strong competition for existing amorphous silicon TFT. It will be the core technology of a new generation of flexible displays, using flexible display technology to make displays that can curl like a canvas and may become as important a part of the future display world as display displays.
Due to the use of organic materials, has the characteristics of flexible display, so not only impact resistance, but also light weight, small size. It not only changes the appearance of the display, but also greatly expands and diversifies the application environment. The display is printed on a plastic film sheet using a coil process similar to the newspaper printing process, which can greatly reduce the production cost.
TFT Display
Usually, the active material of TFT is silicon thin film, and according to the different structure of silicon thin film, the transistor is divided into amorphous silicon TFT (a-SiTFT), polycrystalline silicon (p-SiTFT) and monocrystalline silicon MOSFET (c-SiMOSFET). In addition, TFT prepared by organic materials is called organic TFT.
TFT technology is in the core position in the flat panel display industry, with the characteristics of capital intensive, talent intensive and technology intensive, the panel output value is high, and the industrial agglomeration effect is obvious. Although TFT technology is mature, it is still developing rapidly, and there is still room to continuously reduce production costs by improving film materials and preparation processes, while improving panel performance.
